A manufacturing process that builds three-dimensional objects by adding layer upon layer of material, such as 3D printing.

AS9100

A quality management standard for the aerospace industry.

Castings

Metal parts made by pouring molten metal into a mold.

Densification

The process of making a material more dense by reducing voids and porosity.

Diffusion Bonding

A solid-state joining process that creates bonds between similar or dissimilar materials by applying pressure and heat.

Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP)

A manufacturing process that uses high temperature and high pressure to improve the properties of materials, reduce porosity, and consolidate powders.

Intermetallics

A metallic compound with a definite chemical composition.

ISO 9001

An international standard for quality management systems.

MIM (Metal Injection Molding)

A process where finely powdered metal is combined with a binder material and molded into a desired shape, then the binder is removed and sintered.

Nadcap

A cooperative global accreditation program for aerospace engineering and manufacturing.

Powder Metallurgy

A process of creating parts by compacting and sintering metal powders.
